Absolute, perfect music for this. It's so haunting, just like some kind of western!

Ah, sorry for the beginning being so dark! I wanted it to be very striking, the damage caused by Smithy, and I wanted to show why Geno is so intent on stopping everything, getting the Star Pieces and bringing hope back to everyone. (I felt really guilty while making that Toad girl, honestly!) But I wanted to capture that hopeless ghost town feeling, abeit different than what Mario and Mallow faced in the Mushroom Kingdom when that was being taken over. They saw a town, dark and trashed, with people running away from childish shysters riding pogosticks, thus it was hectic. In Geno's case, he comes upon Rose Town at night, where everything is dead silent and eerie, with its residents stuck in place, only able to mutter little words... A ghost town full of people, with an unsettling air floating above. I can see it really driving Geno angry, only increasing his vendetta for the Smithy Gang.

Of course, coming across a small little inn, Geno gets an idea... One that he wishes he'd come up with from the very beginning...

Anyway, note how Mario and Mallow are constantly obscured in some way, until Geno leaves. xD I wanted to make sure that he really wouldn't recognize them in the future when they save his wooden can! Mario really looks like an asylum patient here- It'll be interesting to see his side of the whole inn fiasco. xD It was an interesting one, this comic... Lots of story I'd say. Hopefully these don't throw you guys off or anything, it's really just my take on the whole Rose Town saga, haha.

Seems old habits die hard for Gaz's mom though. Lets hope she comes downstairs, or Gaz gets bored of the floating rectangles and goes up, otherwise the world is screwed. xD

...And you shall never look at those inn signs the same way again. I don't believe the stars knew about that, and I don't believe the people below know star anatomy. xD
Also, it wasn't until a week or two before starting this comic, but I realized that the caps of the Rose Town toads look like bullseyes from overhead... How ironic.
